I try not to use any of these kind of sites because they make it SO hard to change my plans. If I only stay a week rather than a month I have to call and spend an hour on the phone with somebody who does not speak English and then they have to get a manager and so and so on. I book a minimum with you and then book the rest from the motel.

Horrible Company and a total Scam

I am currently having a horrible experience with hotel planner. I had a $177 voucher from a reservation I could not use last year, due to covid. I TRIED to book a hotel for Sept 17....First, they are way higher than the hotel, but I did need to use the voucher, so I was considering it,,,,Second, they told me the difference I needed to pay was $88.88...I did give them my CC but said I needed to call them right back to confirm. In the meantime, they charged my credit card 3 times for a total of $266.64. IN addition, when I called back, (within like 10 minutes), the price of the room had gone from $250 to over $400...I told them to credit my CC ASAP as I was not going to book that. They told me they would credit my CC and never did....I have either emailed or called them once a week for the past 4 weeks....they might answer, but I get routed around and they finally just hang up on me. I do have a ticket number, however, no one ever responds to that either. I have reported this to my American Express company and they are helping me to get a refund. Horrible company, and I don't understand how they are still in business. Total scam.

Extremely bad, a fraudulent group.

This group is willing to pay Google a more than anyone else, so their search result shows up first, even ahead of the actual hotel one is searching for. People call thinking they are talking to the hotel, then make a reservation. Everything can go downhill from there, credit card is charged immediately, and their reservation service fee is added. Once arriving at the hotel staff explained they have so many problems with these types of services, leaving them in a position of trying to resolve problems they did not create. They suggested to me I should never use this service, or any service similar to this again. The reservation was sent in based on old prices that are no longer valid, then HotelPlanner sends the hotel a purchase order made out for far less than that, because they also want to keep part of the hotel rental rate for themselves in addition to their service fees. Stiff the hotel owner, force them to accept a very low payment without any agreement in place, HotelPlanner does not care. Obviously, the hotel refused to accept the reservation and payment, and refused to provide a room, even though HotelPlanner keeps saying it's confirmed. Then it's impossible to cancel through HotelPlanner, because it was recorded in their system as non refundable. All attempts to communicate with HotelPlanner are then refused, despite being given a few case numbers. 300 $cdn has evaporated, non recoverable, when a reservation was not even obtained. It's a business that revolves around deceptive communication, refusals to communicate, and outright scamming. Itinerary No. H5567729 Confirmation: *******459

Another thing to learn from this is to no longer trust Google search results. Any business that shows up high in a Google search must have paid an extremely high fee, and will have to be overcharging or providing a lower standard of service to make up for that. No longer will I trust any business that pays these high fees to Google.

I was able to make a reservation…

I was able to make a reservation through Hotel Planner. However, I am not sure how I got to them in the first place and it was never my intention to go through a commercial application such as this one for my reservation. The agent (Norma) never told me there would be a significant ($19.99) charge for each reservation I made with her. She was a bit pushy. She would only give me prices for the full reservations, including taxes and fees and while this was useful, not knowing the daily price for each room didn't allow me to compare that price with prices being quoted from other sources and for other hotels.

Reservation

I tried to make a reservation at the Sleep Inn in Jacksonville IL which was fully booked. I was transferred to a very nice agent, Denise who set me up with the Comfort Inn and a confirmed reservation. Very easy

Terrible Service, hotel was 20% more than actual hotel would have charged

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use this service! They didn't communicate my payment to the hotel and the hotel tried to bill me a second time after I paid Hotel Planner for the same stay. Hotel Planner quoted me one rate, but when the charge came through, it was 20% ($70) more than the rate originally quoted. When I asked for an explanation of why, they gave me a ridiculous generic response that "I agreed to the higher rate so they can't change it." I didn't even ask to change it, I asked why I didn't get the best price, and the hotel would have charged me $70 less if I made the reservation through the hotel. Also, I didn't know I was using them, the hotel (Super 8) sent me right through to them if you press the button for reservations. Instead, ask to speak to the front desk to make the reservation and save $70, over what these SCAMMERS will do to you. Terrible service, worst service ever.
